Right to use livestock guardian dogs

I need assistance with a legal issue I'm having with Animal Control.  I live in a rural area in northern California and the area is zoned "Agricultural Exclusive" -- the strongest pro-agricultural zoning there is.  My next door neighbor who has 55 acres and is running several agricultural ventures on his property, including 20,000 pheasants, has filed complaints with  Animal Control about my guard dogs barking - they are protecting my sheep.

Does anyone have any precedential cases they may know of that I can refer to or know of anyone else who has faced a similar issue with Animal Control?  I am being required to go to trial in a month to defend my right to have my dogs here and allow them the freedom to bark while acting as livestock guardian dogs.

I suspect that because your neighbor is raising 20,000 pheasants he's in an "industry" - The use of these birds for food and feather will out gun your dog in court everyday..... This site: NAIA touts the many reasons animals are needed for hungry people, furs, etc.....  I think you might find more sympathy & answers on an animal rights or animal activist site.  I've seen every kind of animal cruelty excused or ignored on this site - I'm afraid your little pooch doesn't stand a chance here.....
