"Should Crufts Be Banned?
Dirty tricks and eccentric topiary are one thing. But on the eve of Britain's biggest dog show, Beverly Cuddy asks whether we are endangering man's best friend "

In a country known for "yellow journalism", this appears to be their doggy version. On one hand, the editor freely uses purebred dogs to sell her magazine -- photos, purebred dog articles promised on the cover.
With her "Crufts" article, she slants and mis-interprets in every possible way -- criticizing hairless dogs like the Chinese Crested that date from the 1400s -- they are hardly a recent invention of man! A related "Cruelty Row" article bemoans the lack of scenting ability in Pekingese -- well, duh, these are not dogs who spent a lot of time tracking game in the wild!!
Her magazine promotes her own "Wag & Bone" Dog Event -- complete with sponsors and look alike events like "Scruffts" that covers the serious work: i.e. promoting the European Convention for the Protection of Pet Animals -- hard core animal extremist ideology. Do you think many will check to see what is behind her fluff?
